The first half of this season of the Premier League has been unexpected to say the least, with a number of clubs rising to the top section of the English League standings. Southampton, West Ham United and Swansea City all have managed to snatch a spot in the top 5.

The story and journey of Swansea City in this season of the Premier League has been a peculiar one as the chairman of the club Huw Jenkins sacked an experienced coach Michael Luadrup, and replaced him with someone who had never managed a club in his entire career Garry Monk.

Garry Monk had been the captain of the club for over 6 years but he had never taken up a managerial position ever and this even the own supporters and fans of Swansea City were concerned as if Monk was the appropriate man to take charge of the club and guide them through the Premier League.
