Graeme Souness and Jamie Carragher backs Jose for Manager

Graeme Souness and Jamie Carragher believes that Jose Mourinho will be the best manager for Manchester United

Both pundits have argued that Jose Mourinho will be a success at Manchester United if ever he is appointed as manager. They believe that the Portuguese manager has the knowledge and skills to turn around United’s fortunes and make them competitive again.

However, Souness has some reserves on whether the United board really want to appoint Mourinho as manager. He believes that if it was the case, then they should have already signed him before another high profile club comes and sign him.

Carragher, on the other hand, believes that Manchester United fans are ready for a change of manager as they feel that van Gaal is not the right person for the club. He believes that Jose Mourinho will be a fan favorite, and he will be able to inspire the Red Devils on the road to success.

Jamie Carragher believes that Jose Mourinho is an upgrade on van Gaal and that Manchester United should definitely make the move for the Portuguese manager if they want to return to the top of the Premier League as from next season. Thibaut Courtois justifies Sacking of Jose

Thibaut Courtois has tried to justify Chelsea’s sacking of Jose Mourinho towards the end of 2015 as been the correct solution to the club’s poor form in the first half of the campaign.

Despite being league champions only in May, Chelsea have had a disastrous run throughout the 2015-16 campaign. The club were near the relegation places when manager Guus Hiddink took over from Mourinho. The Portuguese boss once again failed to see out his contract at the club. Mourinho has never failed to last more than three seasons in a club over the last decade.

It was the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan manager who decide to make Courtois as the number one over Petr Cech. The Czech Republic shot stopper had been a huge part of the club’s success over the last decade butCourtois’ age proved decisive in the battle between the two. However,Courtois says that Mourinho’s sacking has been justified by the club’s improved form since the arrival of Hiddink. The form has done little to improve the season apart from putting the club away from relegation battle. Chelsea progressed to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup where they were beaten by Everton. Ian Wright believes that Everton forward Romelu Lukaku

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes that Everton forward Romelu Lukaku should not consider joining Manchester United at this point in time since he will start to receive little in return.

Wright considers United as a club in turmoil, as they are believed to be on the verge of changing managers once again. The club enjoyed a long period of stability under Sir Alex Ferguson. However, his replacement David Moyes lasted less than a year and there are already growing rumours about Van Gaal leaving the club at the end of the season irrespective of the results.

United have joined the list of admirers for Lukaku, who has been amongst the top scorers in the Premier League this season. It is a remarkable transformation from the former Chelsea forward, who struggled to make impact last season. Lukaku has already scored 19 goals in 25 appearances for the blues. It is not surprising that United are showing interest since they are in the market for a top striker. The sale of Javier Hernandez and the other strikers has left United little short of quality up front. Only Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial are the recognised top strikers in the United squad.Wright, though, believes that Lukaku can progress if he continues at Everton for another few years. Calum Chambers says that he is extremely happy with his first season at the club

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers says that he is extremely happy with his first season at the club.

The young England star moved to Arsenal from Southampton in a £ 16 million deal, which raised a few eyebrows since he was yet to prove at the very top level. Still just 20 years old, it is expected that he has a long time to go before he reaches the peak of his career. However, he has impressed everyone at the Emirates stadium sufficiently after just 12 months at the club. Chambers had to be utilised in a number of positions last season due to the injuries and suspensions.

Even though he is primarily a rightback, Chambers showed last season that he is equally good at playing as a central defender. It is expected that he will replace Per Mertesacker or Laurent Koscielny if he continues on this kind of form. He made 28 appearances in all competitions and scored one goal. More importantly, his performances helped Arsenal capture the FA Cup for a second consecutive campaign. One of priorities for Chambers next season will be to avoid the niggling injuries that troubled him last season. The 20-year-old did not feature for Arsenal after the win over Burnley in April. Craig Gordon is a 32 year old Scottish shot-stopper who has been affected by injuries on numerous occasions during his playing career.  The first top European club that Craig Gordon joined was Sunderland as he signed with the English team in August of 2007 and penned a 5 year long contract but he had to miss out from several months of playing time due to a knee injury and this allowed Simon Mignolet in becoming the first choice goal-keeper of Sunderland.

Knee injuries have not been the only physical condition that he has suffered from as he also broke his arm with Sunderland which forced him to miss out from the start of the 2010-11 Premier League season.

His ongoing problems with injuries have also constrained the Scottish footballer on making a limited amount of performances in the international stage for his country.

Going through rehabilitation is not something new for Craig Gordon as he has gone through a few surgeries in order to heal the injuries that he has sustained and the experienced goal-keeper has even stated that at one point in time his kids even asked him what did he do for a living, since he was out of action for so long.

‘’They have stood by me and they have supported me for two whole years when I wasn’t working. When I was concentrating fully on getting back into football, it must have been a hard thing for them to have to deal with.’’

“They were so young they
never really knew what daddy did for a living. They were a big part of my inspiration to get back to top-level football. I wanted to show them what their daddy used to do!’’ Celtic’s Craig Gordon said. Continue reading “Craig Gordon is a 32 year old Scottish shot-stopper”
